John Michael Rose is an Australian writer whose imagination has always travelled further than the roads beneath his wheels.

Working as a truck driver in the vast Australian outback, John spends much of his time surrounded by open landscapes, distant horizons and the quiet solitude of long journeys. It’s an environment that offers plenty of opportunity to think, question, imagine and develop stories.

With a background in environmental science and engineering, John brings a natural curiosity to his writing. His interests range across science, history, philosophy and human behaviour, often exploring the questions and possibilities that emerge when familiar ideas are examined from a different perspective.

John’s writing isn’t confined to a single genre. From illustrated children’s books to fiction and nonfiction, he enjoys the freedom to explore different ideas, audiences and forms of storytelling.

He believes stories can do more than entertain. They can inspire curiosity, challenge assumptions, encourage imagination and offer new ways of looking at the world.
